Adjournments

An adjournment request shall be made by electronically filing Chambers not later than 2:00 p.m. the day prior to the hearing using one of the following forms:

Adjournment Request / Withdrawal / Settlement Notification for Motion Related Matters form
Adjournment Request / Withdrawal / Settlement Notification for Confirmation Hearings form

Please be advised that after a third request for an adjournment, you may receive a request from Chambers for additional information, along with a disposition of your request.

Copies of Papers

A paper chambers copy is required and must be clearly marked as “ECF CASE – CHAMBERS COPY” for the following items.

Notice of motion, motion, application and certificate of service;
Chapter 7 final meeting notice;
Any pleading filed in an adversary proceeding;
Pretrial statement;
Memoranda of law and any pleading or other document filed in regard to a submitted matter;
Any document regarding an appeal;
Withdrawal of reference; and
Any objection pursuant to Fed. R. Bankr. P. 9033.

Motions

Motions for summary judgment require the filer to contact the Syracuse Courtroom Deputy (315-295-1682) to ensure the date returnable is correct.

Telephonic Appearances

Unless a hearing is specifically designated as a telephonic hearing or conference, a party is required to appear in person or through counsel. Any special request to appear telephonically in lieu of a physical appearance should be directed to Carolyn Behm ( carolyn_behm@nynb.uscourts.gov ), courtroom deputy, well in advance of the hearing and provide good reason therefor.
